If you've been reading this blog for more than a week, then you probably already know how much I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE getting my produce (and milk, eggs, and OJ) from 3 Guys from Brooklyn. Look up there at this week's deals- you're not going to find prices like that in the grocery stores.
3 Guys is my favorite place to buy produce, but they're featured here to be an example for you. If you're trying to save money on groceries, buy your produce at a place that specializes in produce. Produce coupons are rarely available, so you're not going to save a ton on them even if you do have coupons. Even the teeny tiny produce stands in my neighborhood have better prices than ALL of the grocery stores. Since produce is normally purchased at a per-pound price, a .50¢-$1/lb difference will add up really, really quickly.
Just for the sake of comparison, here are the "sale" prices this week of grocery store produce:
Peaches: .99¢/lb at Pathmark
Grapes: $2.99/lb at most stores
Pineapples: $2.99 at most stores
Just try buying your produce at 3 Guys (or even another produce store) this week instead of the grocery store. Your money will go SO much farther and you and your family will be saving on healthy foods.
