Walgreens Weekly Ad, 4/24-4/30

This week's Walgreens ad is below. It's a great ad with a few freebies and moneymakers. I'm running late for my kids' dance class, but I'll add in a transaction scenario this afternoon.

FYI: I know that there are a lot of readers (esp. from Facebook) who aren't local. The Walgreens ad is regional to NYC, but the Rite Aid matchups are nationwide. One of my pet peeves about Walgreens is that you can't have more coupons than items. So, let's say you're buying shampoo. You've got a Walgreens store coupon, a manufacturer's coupon, and a RR left over from last week. They will not let you use all of those coupons on just shampoo. You'll actually need 3 items to use all 3 of those coupons. My suggestion is that before heading to the register, grab some .10¢ pencils, erasers, or other cheap items that you will not be using a coupon to purchase. Just make sure that you end up with more items for each transaction than coupons, otherwise you'll be scrambling to add items while you're at the register and will most likely end up with more expensive items that you don't need.
